About Healforce
We're putting it back in the hands of the people who do the work — and the bodies that need it. Healforce began the year I burned out, got lost in a system that treats symptoms and sends you home, and finally found the healers who understood what everyone else had missed.
Why this exists
For years, my job was to keep a fifteen-liter engine alive. I was the lead engineer on Cummins' number-one on-highway product — $1.6 billion in sales a year — balancing combustion, airflow, pressure, and heat so the machine could run hard without tearing itself apart. Sixty to eighty hours a week. On call at two in the morning. Without realizing it, I was tuning a nervous system. It turned out to be a rehearsal for understanding my own.
An engine can only hold its violent, high-output state for so long before something gives — a turbocharger overheats, a filter clogs, a pressure line crosses its limit. The body is no different. After eighteen months in that state, mine stopped switching off. The stress settled into my muscles, my gut, my brain. I went on medical leave and never came back.
What followed wasn't recovery. It was a years-long search through a system that treats the smoke and never asks what's burning. More than fifty thousand dollars. Over twenty-five practitioners — neurologists, cardiologists, functional medicine, somatic work. Medications, elimination diets, supplements, cleanses. Three different neurologists told me "you can't feel your brain" in five-minute visits while my head felt like it was on fire.
The first honest answer came from a brain scan. My amygdala was stuck in overdrive; my prefrontal cortex had dimmed under the weight of burnout. My nervous system had locked itself in fight-or-flight and forgotten the way back. I'd read thirty books on neuroplasticity — I knew the body could rewire itself. For the first time, I knew where to begin.
That was when my old job made a terrible kind of sense. On the engine, you fix faults at the root, or you lose the whole machine. In medicine, we duct-tape over the smoke and call it care. Stress becomes symptom, symptom becomes diagnosis, and somewhere in that drift people stop living and start surviving. Almost all of it runs through the nervous system. Almost no one explains that until you're already broken.
The people who finally helped me — the somatic practitioners, the massage therapists, the ones who worked with my body instead of around it — were the same ones quietly fighting to keep their doors open. Wrong pricing. No marketing. Software built for someone else's practice. Healforce exists to change both halves of that story: to give those healers the infrastructure they have always deserved, and to hand the next person who's burning out the map I never had.
This was never meant to be a better directory. It's a world where the people who know how to heal a nervous system can build real practices — and the people searching can find them before they break.

The journey
The grind
Lead engineer on Cummins' $1.6B fifteen-liter engine program. Sixty-hour weeks, calls at 2am, tuning the "nervous system" of a machine while my own ran far past its limits.
The break
Eighteen months in, my body stopped switching off. It locked into fight-or-flight and stayed there. Medical leave. I never went back.
The search
Over $50,000 and 25+ practitioners — neurology, cardiology, functional medicine, somatic work. Endless symptom management. Almost never the root cause.
The truth
A brain scan showed what five-minute visits had missed: an amygdala on fire, a prefrontal cortex dimmed by burnout. Finally, language for what my body was doing.
Healforce
The healers who actually helped me couldn't stay in business. Healforce is the infrastructure they always deserved — and the map I wish I'd had on day one.
What we believe
Not a luxury. Not a perk. Not a reward you earn once you've been productive enough. Every body arrives already knowing how to heal — what the modern world built is a system that keeps getting in the way.
A symptom is not an enemy; it's a messenger. The headache that won't quit, the back that seizes before every hard conversation, the gut that turns on you under stress — these are a nervous system asking to be heard. Healing begins the moment you listen.
Acupuncture for some. Somatic therapy for others. Massage, breath, movement, plant medicine, rest. The right modality is the one your nervous system says yes to — and our whole job is to make that yes findable.
The best practitioners we've met lose half their lives to admin, marketing, and software built for someone else's practice. We're building the operating system that hands them their craft back — so they can give you their full attention.
The more you understand your nervous system — your breath, your fascia, the stress you've been carrying — the less you need any of us. We write Wisdom for exactly that reason. The goal was never dependence. It's sovereignty.
The world we're building
Where you can describe what's happening in your body in plain words, and the right practitioner — credentialed, available, twelve minutes from your door — simply appears.
Where booking takes thirty seconds, payment disappears into the background, and the receipt arrives with the registration details your insurer needs.
Where the wisdom of every tradition — Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, somatic psychology, Western neuroscience — lives in one library, free for anyone who wants to understand their own nervous system.
Where healers run real practices with real margins, held up by software that respects their time — so they can stay in the work for forty years instead of burning out at seven. That's the world I needed when I was sick. It's the one we're building now.
